"Since when do you listen to fucking rumours?" Blackbeard sneers. Izzy makes a sour face, but he tries to sound neutral:
"Because once you get past the exaggeration and the bullshit, there's usually some truth to it, however small."
Blackbeard just grunts, which Izzy takes as encouragement to continue.
"Well, there's talk of a ship manned by the monsters. Creatures, if you like." It's not a correction, Blackbeard never spoke of himself otherwise, but Izzy isn't sure that the creatures in question are actually monstrous. They could be bloody fairies, for all he knows.

"A siren put a love spell on the crew and everyone is in love with Stede," Ed replies with more enjoyment than he ought to.
"Fuck no," is all Izzy says as he makes his way to one of the spare dinghies. He lowers it so quickly that Ed can almost see smoke coming from between his leather gloves and the rope.***
A siren accidentally casts a love spell on Stede, and no one is happy about it. Least of all Ed. -

Summary
Lonely wildlife rescue volunteer Stede Bonnet spends his weekends wandering Western Australia's beautiful South Coast beaches looking out for birds in need of rescue. He gets more than he bargained for this weekend when he stumbles across an Antarctic emperor penguin that's ended up several thousand kilometres from home.
His new friend (soon to be nemesis) needs more expert care than he can provide, but he's five hours from the city and clueless. Thankfully, the zoo's penguin expert Edward Teach answers his call and comes down to rescue them both, in more ways than one.
