Summary
In this world of Heroes, it's so easy to reach out a hand and help another up. In this world of Villains, it's so easy to tear another down.
It all starts, when Shouta Aizawa finds a young boy dying on the streets. As the police rush to find the boy's attacker, Shouta suddenly finds himself in a position to care for a child who is scared, traumatized and in desperate need of a parental figure. It’s only temporary he tells himself. At least, that’s the plan.
As each new turn in the investigation continues to add complication after complication, Shouta finds himself increasingly concerned for his young charge – and unwilling to give up a responsibility he wasn’t sure he wanted in the first place.

“Why can’t I hear you?”
Izuku takes a few deep breaths to calm himself down. It’s probably nothing. Maybe a quirk, like Katsuki suggested earlier. Or just a short term thing because of how crazy the battle was. Stress could be a factor too.
He’s afraid of what Katsuki will say if he suggests...that to him. In the past, whenever doctors or even Recovery Girl have warned him of a potential loss, he’s always laughed them off. He’s number one, something as trivial as possible deafness doesn’t mean anything to him. Besides, it’s not like he’s exhibited big symptoms before. He’s been using his quirk actively for years! This is nothing!
Katsuki clears his throat. “Do you think I’m…” he trails off, lips grazing Izuku’s bare neck. Izuku can feel a slight wetness where Katsuki’s face is.
Oh. If Katsuki’s saying it out loud, then that means that it’s bad. Hopeless, even.
Izuku blinks rapidly to keep the tears at bay. “No. No, you’re not.” He feigns a smile. “You’re number one, remember? You’ll be just fine.”
Katsuki chokes back a sob. “What did you just say?”

Katsuki Bakugou only had one real aspiration in life, and that was, well, fucking the shit out of his childhood best friend and babysitter-- a 21 year old curly-haired nuisance called Midoriya Izuku-- and doing it without his consent.
