On the night of the recital, Mari kills Sunny.
She doesn’t know what to do, frozen, trembling, so she hides his body in the chest, alongside his broken violin.
Resolved to confess, her desperate prayers are suddenly answered when Sunny knocks at the front door, smiling as if nothing had happened.
Sunny is back.
Back with his friends.
Back with his violin, miraculously restored.
Back to a normal life.

Summary
Sunny is vain, vindictive, and tortured by a past he can't make peace with. He hates himself and everyone else and crawls through college at his mom's and stepfather's behest, having drifted away from his friends back home like Kel, Aubrey, and the Hooligans, even if the first two are in the same school now. Meds and alcohol can only take him so far, though, and he knows it. However, the looming date in his mind and the plan he's settled on are about to be disrupted by a chance encounter with a blue-eyed, blond weirdo he's certain he's never met before in his life--but there's never really such a thing as chance.

Summary
Everything was hunky-dory peachy-weachy! Sunny and Basil had recovered fully from the eye-stabby incident and were getting some much-needed therapy.
Not every deep-seated subconscious desire had been addressed, though, so Headspace lingered. Sunny had spent four years trying to ignore puberty, and with his trauma starting to be addressed, that left Omori to deal with the pains of growing up.
Which meant trying to figure out sex.
