His thoughts are interrupted by a crash at the door, Xie Lian falling through a hastily drawn distance shortening array, clutching a set of papers like his life depends on it. Maybe it does, Xie Lian has always had the unlucky trait of trouble following his every step.
“Feng Xin,” Xie Lian says, breathless, “Feng Xin, Mu Qing left us letters.”
“What-” He starts, Xie Lian pushes past him, laying the papers on the table.
“Mu Qing he- he left us letters, Feng Xin.” He smiles, something happy and uncontrollable and full of longing, “they go all the way back to Xianle, Feng Xin, Feng Xin he left us letters.”
or, Mu Qing dies, Feng Xin and Xie Lian are left to pick up the pieces.

Summary
Almost dying, undignified and nonchalantly, had the rather… unpleasant side effect of making Feng Xin and Mu Qing think. They’re gods, sure, but they aren’t indestructible. The months passed and nothing changed besides their newfound relationship with Xie Lian, and that was just what drove Mu Qing insane.

Summary
“We’ve survived this long together,” Mu Qing says with a long-suffering sigh.
Feng Xin looks up at him, breathes out with a foolish smile playing on his lips. “Yeah,” he says, looking reassured. “We survived.”
Mu Qing’s eyes feel scratchy. He ducks his face down and brushes his lips against Feng Xin’s brow, then each of his cheeks, and finally his lips. Feng Xin sighs against him, holding on impossibly tighter.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Mu Qing mutters, embarrassed.
After the final battle, Feng Xin wants simple comfort. But nothing between them is ever simple, and Mu Qing can't forget that.
