Charlie struggled with his feelings.
Everybody knew that. The islanders knew that, the island itself knew that. his friends outside of this island knew that.
Anyone who has met Charlie knows that.
The problem wasn't people knowing it. The problem was that no one knew the extent of it. They would just brush it off, and normalize it; after all, everybody struggled with them, right?or, Charlie is a slime mob that does not have any emotions until he finally does.

He felt the anger in his lungs further in his throat. He quickly realized that the burning in his throat wasn't actually anger and quickly jumped from the couch to the bathroom. He felt something burning his throat, but when he lifted his head from the toilet seat, what he saw was definitely not what he was expecting. Flower petals around the hole of the toilet, adorning something that people usually don't decorate.

Herm was jealous of the marks Ajmal wore, cuts and punctures and whole amputations healed to leave behind rippling tissue, each one with a story to tell. For his part, Herm had little more than freckles and birthmarks to speak of; he’d been a cautious, frightened child who’d rarely gotten hurt, and even the times that other kids had taken it upon themselves to press their disdain into his skin, it hadn’t ever been bad enough to leave scars.
In his youthful, untouched plainness, Herm felt green as grass, knowing he still had a long way to go until he could truly call himself a hero without feeling like he was lying.
The thought of earning his very first scar at Ajmal’s hands, though, in long, shaking lines over his shoulder blades, and to have that story to look back on—well, that was very different indeed.
“Oh,” said Ajmal, perking up behind him, his smile growing teeth. His hands found Herm’s hips, a firm, warm grip on either side, and he nudged his nose into a spot behind Herm’s ear that made him shiver. “You like that.”

Summary
The Z-Team is being sent on a short-term work trip. The only problem is that the destination is hours away… and the way carpooling ended up having Flambae, Prism, and Waterboy crammed into Robert’s shitty little Honda Civic… and whatever weird combination of flirting, bonding, and bullying each other is going on in the passenger seats. Not to mention Waterboy’s surprising taste in music.
This was going to be a long drive… especially when that work trip was to a conference being held by the Salt Lake City SDN— and considering how many PR nightmares they’d already caused? Things were only downhill from here.
