“Aemond,” he says in a rough voice. It’s begun to drop a register, into the husk it will one day be. No one says Aemond’s name so. But there is sweat on his forehead and lines beneath his eyes. Luke says then, softer, “Husband… I fear I am dying.”
Part II
“Annulment?” Luke asks over his food. “But that is for marriages that have not been consummated.”
“As yours has not,” Rhaenys says patiently.
And Luke says, with more focus on his plate than on either of them, “No, we’ve slept together.”

Aemond isn’t sure why the guy gave him an obviously fake name. He wasn’t going to stalk his Instagram later, this was, absolutely, a one time only deal. But maybe Kyle was married or worse, some kind of closet case. Maybe he had religious parents. He certainly knew the struggle even if he didn’t care enough to pry. He offered Kyle a tight smile instead.
Preliminaries weren’t his strong suit either.

I've not taken away the Targaryen exceptionalism. In this universe, the Targaryens are still Valyrian. Valyrians are a tiny diasporic ethnic group, some of whom live in the United States. Valyria, the tiny Nordic island, was obliterated over a century ago by an enormous volcanic eruption. Aegon loves living with Aemond.
The flat is always tidy and organised, his laundry always hung to dry or folded before he gets the chance to do it. When he remembers he has dishes to do or finishes letting them soak, he’s shocked to find they are washed and put away. The money for rent comes from an account Aegon never sees, a trust fund set up by his dad before he passed, which his mum scammed him into signing over to her (“For your own benefit, Aegon!”) so he never has to listen to Aemond bitch about not being paid on time.
And his brother leaves him alone, for the most part. Sure, there are sometimes notes taped to his door or passive aggressive words when Aegon braves the light of the lounge in the late afternoon, but overall it’s the best decision he’s ever made.
The only problem is that Aemond and Luke are trying to fuck him.
