Summary
Silco's... not a good parent. As much as he loves his daughter, he has a few flaws when it comes to her. But he can explain it all away, from slipping drugs into her tea to keep her his perfect little girl to keeping her safe away from the world. He can even explain giving her to the Enforcers in exchange for Zaun - after all, they've given their word that Jinx is not to be harmed.
Ekko, meanwhile, went to the bridge upon overhearing the Enforcers' plans to capture Jinx on their radios - she's too far gone, and as the last person who knew Powder as well as the leader of the Firelights, it's his job to put her down.
But after rescuing her instead upon realizing Jinx is still at least a little Powder, when he learns that 'Jinx' the persona isn't real but instead a defense mechanism, upon learning about the drugs in her system and the pain and fear inflicted on her, he insists she can be saved.
And thus begins the rest of her life.
(Featuring childhood-friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers Timebomb, a complicated relationship between Jinx and Silco, genius Firelight bioengineer Jinx/Powder, and Jinx proving she's stronger and better than anyone gives her credit for.)

Powder is a 7-year-old child who is in the foster system. Her family is dead. Except for her sister who left her. Who she hates. No one wants to adopt her. Powder only has herself. All the foster parents and families aren't interested in adoption, they just want to feel good about themselves. When they get tired of her that's when she gets sent back and gets shipped off with someone else. So when a married couple wants to foster her, why would this time be any different?

Sevika never was one to ever stray from her code and that meant a lot to her and seeing Powder fail to find that person that could fulfill that need to build a bridge between their interests and simply enjoying the presence of someone, she would push herself to offer up her spare time.
What she would not become aware of was how their paths would entwine, how as much as she loved her sister, that love was never going to be anymore than that, and the only soul to truly indulge her machinations would be what brought her low and pulled her in.
