It’s weird to think that just a few months ago, Robin had thought of Nancy as an uptight priss. Sure, she’s not the most open of people, at least not with strangers, but Robin can see why now. Nancy’s been through so much, it makes sense she’d be a little closed off. Nancy’s still smiling when she takes hold of Robin’s hand and holds a bottle of blue polish up.
Robin wonders what it would be like to witness Nancy opening up fully. An image sparks in her mind, Nancy soft and relaxed, opening up for her. Robin quickly pushes it aside, focusing instead on the gentle way Nancy holds her hand, the cool sensation of the nail polish as she paints it on.
