The first time Niall sees the small lumps on his back he freaks out. He stands naked in front of the mirror, the glassy surface still blurry with the steam of the shower he’s just had. There’s something in his back that feels odd. It doesn’t necessarily ache; it’s like a stretching feeling, something from his insides fighting to come onto the surface, pulling at the skin and muscles that come in its way.

Summary
Harry eyes him from behind the teddy bear, and Niall doesn’t look threatening, but. “Why’d you want to lend me your bag? Are you trying to rope me into something?”
“I don’t think I have it in me to blackmail or sabotage anyone, let alone the endearing, fit bloke who’s brave enough to cry over a stuffed toy in the middle of an airport,” Niall tells him, smile smaller, but somehow more meaningful. “I just want to help you get home. Seems like you need to.”
(Where Harry can’t seem to make his luggage light enough to get checked in, and Niall offers him his extra baggage allowance. Then fate intervenes, the way it does.)

Summary
Niall is Louis’ best friend and is Harry’s least favorite person in the world.
He comes into the coffee shop almost every day and he stuffs himself with pancakes or muffins or crepes (whatever stupidly caloric food he can get his hands on). Mostly though, he just distracts Louis from doing his job properly.
He basically meets all the conditions that Harry dislikes in a person: he’s lazy, promiscuous, and obnoxious. Not to mention his lack of manners and self-imposed distancing from anything related to culture.
That’s the reason why, whenever the Irish boy shows up in the coffee shop in his scanty tank tops (which tend to leave a nipple on display), his snapbacks and chav trackies – his blond hair styled in a ridiculous high quiff, Harry always makes a point to be in the back room where he feels safe from Niall’s stupidity.

Niall’s voice is quiet and soft when he lets out a “thank you” and stands on his tiptoes to reach Harry’s cheek and kiss it gently.
He smiles shyly at him, and takes a step back. Looking back at the window trying to hide his blushing cheeks, and says, “The sandwiches must be waiting for us. Let’s go Haz, I’m starving.” And it’s loud and bright again, it makes Harry smile, because there’s something about Niall that makes it so easy, to give the other a nickname so carelessly, but making it sound so personal, to share a small kiss on the cheek and then burst out shouting how funky the noises his belly is making are.
Niall makes it easy, simple, and Harry’s thankful his dad decided it was time to clean the chimney.

Or, Niall is a chimney cleaner and Harry finds it hard to not fall for him.

Summary
Maura and Anne met at their childbirth preparation classes.
Maura put her mat next to Anne's and made a crude joke about how fat they looked in Lycra. After that day they hit it off immediately.
They always paired up to do their exercises together and when the class was over, they had coffee and waited for their husbands to pick them up.
Over coffee, they talked about future strolls to the park and first birthday parties preparations and when they got really carried away, they joked about their children falling in love with each other.
And eventually they did.
