Summary
“You gotta get out of here,” he repeats, his eyes alight with a strange sort of panic, even for a dead boy’s brother. This isn’t grief. This is fight or flight, and Robin’s pretty sure he’s leaning toward fight. “This isn’t a good time –”
And that’s when a hand bursts out of the tree next to them.
Robin screams, and Jonathan is screaming, and the hand, which Jonathan seems to think is Nancy Wheeler, is screaming from inside the tree, but it’s glowing with a weird red light in there, and there’s some sort of mucus membrane that Nancy’s hand is frantically pushing through.
Suddenly Robin is lying in an all too quiet wood across from a panting Jonathan Byers and a goop-covered Nancy Wheeler.
“What– the fuck.”

Summary
"For what it’s worth… I think… I think she wasn’t trying to be mean–"
"Yeah, no, she never means to," Robin butted in, now unmistakably indignant.
"She, uh, found that prom leaflet. In your room. And I think– she just thought maybe you would like to go and–"
"I don’t." Her tone was resolute, the way her chest curled in on itself wasn’t. "I really don’t."
"Okay," Steve said slowly. "But I mean… we could. As friends."
Robin’s gaze snapped to him, her eyes taken up by a rare blaze. "I just said I don’t want to."

Summary
His eyes drank in her appearance in a few instants. Her hair was dishevelled and messy. Her eyes were glazed, but bright as she blinked sluggishly up at Steve. Her outfit, a skimpy black dress that was so unlike Robin to wear that Steve done a double take. And heels. Actual high heels. If it weren’t for those trademark blue eyes and the silver chains around her neck, he might have been convinced it was someone else entirely.
But it wasn’t. It was his Robin.
And she was completely and utterly wasted.
OR Robin suffers at the hands of some nasty homophobes and Steve is there to try and make her feel better.

Summary
Robin was getting tired of her life at “home”. She despised the week-ends she spent there. And even if the teachers and people were boring, weeks at school were better. They were better, because not all the people were boring. She had her amazing group of friend, Steve, Eddie… and none other than the Nancy Wheeler.

Summary
King Steve of Hawkins High was not just a stupid title, but also a memoir of his time as a strong drinker, Big-House-No-Parents-Regular-Party-Host chugging beers. After his fallout with Tommy and Carol and losing his popularity among the Hawkins High population, Steve thought his days as a party thrower were behind him.
As it turns out, befriending a lesbian band geek, a metal head, remaining friends with his ex, and somehow becoming friends with his ex’s new boyfriend was what he needed to start hosting gatherings with alcoholic beverages and loud music in his house again.
Or: Steve hosts a party. Robin gets too drunk to go home and stays overnight. Steve thinks taking care of Robin will be easy. Steve is too optimistic.

Summary
“Don’t stand in the way, new guy. Wouldn’t want to mess up that pretty face. No newbie shaped pancakes on my watch, no siree.” Eddie put his hand on Steve’s shoulder and seemed to study him.
The interaction left him frozen, and Steve realized that his face must’ve been red, because when Robin finally came around the corner, she asked him why he looked like a tomato. He shook his head and refused to explain.
“Seems like you just met a certain someone,” Robin said speculatively, eyebrows raised.
Steve could not, would not satisfy her with an answer, so he simply walked to the break room and sat down, releasing a mortified groan into his hands.
Eddie thought he had a pretty face.
