Summary
The first thing Jason always noticed about Kyle was his hands. They were stained from paint- sometimes blue or red or purple or yellow or a fix of colors, today they were green- and his fingers were adorned with more rings then Jason’s sisters combined owned. Some were large and clunky, some slim, some with stones or simple metal or intricate engravings.
“Hey.” Kyle smiled as he sat next to Jason, his stained hand coming up to pull at the chain around Jason’s neck. He pulled it up and stared at the little gold Jesus for a few seconds before letting it drop back down Jason’s shirt. “How’ve you been?”
Jason licked his lips and let his own fingers trace along the many rings on his friends fingers.

“And you want me to pierce you because you’re too cheap to go to a parlor?” That gets Kyle to roll his eyes.
“Shut up, I’m not cheap I’m just not rolling in it right now. It’s not like they hand out dollars in space, asshole. Besides, you’re the only one I know I’d trust doing those,” he says that so easily, as if it’s a simple and obvious fact. “I know you did yours yourself and they all look nice, not wonky or all scared up.”
“You trust me?” He raises one eyebrow, hoping to mask the way his stomach is sinking in his guts. He doesn’t hear those words all that often, and never directed at himself.
“You know what I mean,” Kyle says with a shrug. Which, no, he doesn’t know what he means but won’t push the issue, he still has some self-respect. “Come on, can you do it?” And Jason takes all of three seconds to pick his answer.
