Why did she go to school today? Oh that's right, because she is a masochist. It must be that, because between her failing grades, the constant bullying, the sneers from the teachers and all her hard work only to fail her tests anyway, school is nothing but torture. But she has to go, her mom has sacrificed so much for them to barely afford this awful place. The well is sealed, her life is hopeless. Who cares that she is one of the most powerful miko to have ever existed? Certainly not her math professor.
Kagome is spiraling, life has hit rock bottom, at least until a red headed boy saves her from drowning face first in a puddle of mud, courtesy of a well aimed soccer ball to the head. But Kagome is not appreciative. That boy smells way too much like the asshole that ruined her life. The stench of roses. She wants nothing to do with him, and he has no idea why he is so entranced by such a violent woman, or why the ancient kitsune living in his head is now uttering 'i'm so sorry' in his head over and over like a mantra.

“‘Sup birdie,” he hears. The voice is familiar, raspy and deep, and it makes Keigo freeze, immortalizing the smile on his face as his gaze snaps up and-and. “Long time no see.”
(or: keigo says "fuck you" to the hpsc, gets his license, has three breakdowns, and gets a boyfriend. not entirely in that order.)
