Otabek returns from vacation to meet the new paramedic in town, but is taken aback by Yuri's cold demeanor until he becomes aware of his past.
Yuri jerked upright in bed. The nightmare of events many months ago still plagued him despite intensive therapy and relocating. He held out a hand and tried to still the violent tremors racking his body. That night had changed his life forever, had changed who he was. Gone was the jovial prankster, replaced by a cold husk of a man that expected full accountability by all.
“Please,” Yuri whispered into the dark, grabbing a bottle of pills from his nightstand and taking two, “Leave me be. Rest. It’s not my fault. I tried. Blame the fucking firefighters.”

Summary
Yuuri and Viktor are teamed up as lab partners, Yuuri ecstatic at his luck. As time passes, neither could imagine the outcome.
Yuuri picked up his backpack off the floor and hugged it to his chest. He was the youngest in the class since he was in the accelerated program and didn’t know anyone. While he was one of the smartest in school, it often put him at a disadvantage as the others were usually older than him. He recognized a fewer upper classmen but they ignored him. He was used to it though, only speaking with his classmates when he was grouped with them for projects or tutoring sessions.
But when the door opened and he walked in, Yuuri wanted the floor to open and swallow him whole.
Yuuri had been infatuated with the grey-haired senior the minute he’d laid eyes on him the year before. He had gaped at him, wondering how such perfection could exist in one person. They’d pass in the hallway occasionally and exchanged civil greetings that would leave Yuuri’s heart racing out of control. But a class with him was beyond a dream come true.

Summary
Viktor's depression has hit rock bottom and only Yuuri can save him.
Yuuri flipped the switch and watched light bathe the room, the sight before him heartrending. He staggered to the bathtub and quickly spun the taps to stop the flow of freezing water. He patted behind him, opening the door of the cabinet to grab a large towel, yanking it out and holding it in front of him.
“Viktor?”
Viktor lifted his head from bent knees and stared at him, Yuuri not able to tell where tears ended and icy water began. Viktor was the epitome of agony, so broken and Yuuri didn’t know how to help.
“Come on, Viktor,” Yuuri said softly, draping the towel across his shoulders and tugging on his forearms.
Viktor fought him, physically pushing him away. He dropped his head onto his knees again, weeping convulsively. Yuuri waited until he ran out of strength before climbing into the tub and sitting next to him. Placing a hand on Viktor’s arm, he racked his brain for every time his mother helped him during his own depressive episodes.
“What do you want me to do?” he asked quietly.
“Save me,” Viktor whispered through sobs.
