Summary
Katie and Ewron have had what seems like the 100th fight this week. On and off it’s either their best friends or enemies. Katie assumes all will go back to normal sooner or later.
What she doesn’t know is what’s going on behind the scenes, and the secret life Ewron has been leading. After an assassination attempt goes wrong, Ewron has no choice but to fake his own death and disappear from the media's view.
News gets out quickly of how the talented and beloved Ewron has died.

Summary
The Hunger Games were an annual event. Smitty used to be afraid of the reaping each year, until one fated day his name was pulled. But he survived, and he was a hero. He would never have to step foot in that arena again.
But the fear returned.
It was the Quarter Quell, an event every 25 years where the game makers would put their own twist on the games. This time, all past winners of the games would be in the reaping.
Even winning didn’t guarantee freedom.

Smitty quickly spun around, hand on his revolver. A man stood at the foot of the staircase, looking up at Smitty from within the circle of the window's light. He was deathly pale. The gray shine from the dark storm outside made him appear ghostly white—lifelessly white.
A vampire.
Smitty didn't remove his hand from his revolver. "Are you the one who lives here?"
"I am," the man said. "And you have made a fatal mistake coming here."

My absolute favorite fic I’ve EVER read. Extremely recommend (made me cry at 1 am).
