Summary
Flowers, particularly roses, are beautiful when they are in a pot, but like all flowers, they do not last forever once they are cut. Not everyone is able to understand that their beauty should not be taken away and, unfortunately, that is something that Norton didn't know very well. How would he have known? He is a violinist anyway, he's not a gardener... He has never learnt how to take care of them and, in some way, this story is about his ignorance about beautiful flowers.
