    Summary

"Why did I come looking for the people who helped bring down Irontomb in the midst of such a crisis?" He pauses long enough to let Dan Heng retort. He doesn't. "That and the fact that Stelle couldn't go five minutes without insisting we find you and the other passengers of the Express. I suspect she is very anxious about your absence. And as for why I came to find you, well."

His mouth curls around a smile, a very small one. His words are proud, taunting, quietly pained, but he offers them like a respite, not a threat. "I suppose it's just something I've got a talent for."

It irks Dan Heng that someone had come to find him, to rescue him. Worse that it had to be Blade, worse still that even the way in which Blade used to haunt him is now something he's meant to be grateful for. He has half a mind to wrap the hand at Blade's collar all the way around his throat, but the roar of adrenaline has lessened enough for him to be able to see how that would not help at all.

Or: Blade comes back from the dead. Dan Heng has several feelings on the matter.

    Summary

"Any particular reason you've brought out this form, Dan Heng?"

Dan Heng resists the urge to hug himself, instead keeping his arms firmly planted by his sides. He already feels a bit bare without the extra armor and accessories that usually adorn his person when he takes on the form of Permansor Terrae; something about donning this form outside of battle leaves him feeling a bit vulnerable. Although he is fully clothed in a high-neck black t-shirt and slacks, the way Blade’s golden eyes rake across his body makes him feel as if he is sitting on the mattress without anything on.

Dan Heng wants to try something new in the bedroom. Blade, naturally, agrees.

    Summary

Just a few feet away, Dan Heng wiped some sweat off his brow. “That’s the last of them,” he said, still panting a touch heavily from the tiring fight the two of them just finished.

The monsters that had overtaken Planarcadia were no joke. Even though Blade had felt no worries for Dan Heng's and his capabilities to take them all down, the two of them had still used a considerable amount of effort to completely clear the streets of the wandering enemies.

Now that they were both done fighting, though, Blade had more time to simply stand, catch his breath, and admire the rather attractive sight before him.

    --

Blade and Dan Heng make the most of their time on Planarcadia after Welt and Himeko leave them alone. Takes place during Version 4.5.

    Summary

Dan Heng is turned towards the colossal moon slumbering on the sky's pitch-black bedsheets. The moonlight illuminates his bone-chilling calm and freezes it in an elegant picture frame. Blade catches his own staring and cleaves it in twain.

The mara won't accompany him to the oceanfront. It's so freeing that he feels hollow and nauseous.

Dan Heng rises, shakes snow off his person, and leaps down from the ledge, bridging the distance between himself and Blade. There's enough light that Blade can see his every feature with striking clarity. His pupils are blown wide, unnerving compared to the narrow slits he bears in broad daylight. He looks distinctly human this way.

Nothing is said for a long while. They both know what needs to be addressed.

Blade thickly swallows his sickness right when Dan Heng beats him to it with, "I'm sorry about—"

"Don't." Blade's next breath impales his lungs. "I'm… sorry. For leaving the way I did."

Feeling guilty over departing for death on harsh terms, Blade invites Dan Heng to a private bath in Inkford Hermitage, apprehensive about what binds them together and which foundations they exist on.

    Summary

He hears pattering in the back. Ren sinks his teeth down into Jing Yuan's soft lower lip, just enough to sting and relieves it with his tongue. When he pulls back, Jing Yuan's pupils are blown so wide that Ren can barely see the beautiful gold. Jing Yuan's breathing is labored, more labored than he's ever seen it even in their fiercest battles. His heart pounds.

Eyes wild, Ren turns to Dan Heng. "Imbibitor Lunae, you're not leaving."

Dan Heng's fingers flutter from where they fiddle with the door's lock. A click echoes through the silence of the room, louder than Jing Yuan's labored breathing and Ren's pants.

    "…What?" Dan Heng musters out.

    ------------------------------------------

Alternatively, Ren (Blade) is sick of Jing Yuan and Dan Heng's evasive bullshit. He will, in fact, obliterate their evening plans so that they'll cease their self-imposed guilt complexes and yearning.
