Kafka was a cold-hearted, calculative, strategic gal.
She played her cards close to her chest, and could talk her way out of a gun to her skull. She can, and has, use her repertoire of skills to get what she needs done before even bothering to unsheath her sword or flick off the safety from her gun.
She was a sharp, cold glacier that did nothing that didn't benefit herself.
But then a star fell into her lap.
And what could she do but melt?

He should have reacted, attacked, yelled, anything, but he couldn’t. Not with him looking at him like that. He felt almost empty without the constant agony he forced himself to get used to. The man who caused him to become like this was sitting right next to him, yet he couldn’t bring himself to do much more than glare at him, poorly concealing the turmoil in his eyes.

Squeezing his head lovingly, Jing Yuan chuckles lowly. “You say that but you also do the same thing. Although, yes, you don’t show him any swords or weapons.”
Dan Heng smiles proudly. “That way it ensures he’ll grow up in a somewhat stable household.”

Her laugh came soft, amused, with just enough edge to make him feel like she was indulging him rather than truly entertained. Kafka tilted her head so he could see the faint curve of her smile, violet eyes opening just enough to catch his expression.
“Relax,” she murmured, shifting slightly to rest her chin against his sternum. “I only wanted to talk.”
Sampo raised an eyebrow, lips quirking. “Talk? After last night? Dangerous choice of timing.” He sighed dramatically and let his hand flop down against the sheets. “I was hoping for at least a few hours of recovery before we got to the interrogations.”
