Jacks tribe fails due to fear of the beast, and he’s forced to come crawling back to Ralph and the others; joining up again.
Every single boy loathes Jack—except Simon. Secretly, of course. One day during a feast on a hunted pig, Simon and Jack sneak off to go wash off. Simon washes Jacks hair for him while praising him.
Jack also eats exotic fruit, since he’s refused any meat as punishment.

Summary

"I'm sorry." Chance whispered as he rested his chin on Will's shoulder. He closed his eyes and kissed his neck softly, that mole shaped like a heart that he always adored, his cheek, his jaw, anywhere he could, whispering "I'm sorry's," and "I love you's," in between each one.
Will's stomach fluttered and his face grew hot. He could feel the dam breaking. Chance knew exactly how to get to him, and it was both infuriating and endearing.
