Summary
The first time Alina goes into the Fold and comes out as the Sun Summoner, she dies. The Druskelle succeed in ambushing the entourage and killing her on the way to the Little Palace. Then she wakes up in the barracks again, the morning of the crossing. There's Alexei on his cot, totally fine. No one is looking at her or for her... no one knows she is the Sun Summoner. She is free again.

A darklina story~How would the story end if the battle between Alina and the Darkling happened differently-if it did not end in the chapel? What would have happened if the Sun Summoner surrendered? Alina Starkov struggles with her feelings towards Aleksander and protecting her country. She is forced into decisions that she did not want to make while at the Grand Palace. The Sun Summoner loses even more control over her life after her marriage to the Darkling. She must find a way to save Aleksander's humanity and countless other innocents.
This story, based on the Shadow and Bone trilogy combined with the Netflix show, starts at the end of Siege and Storm with the battle between the Darkling and the Sun Summoner.

My stare flickered across the room, a trill of fear slithering down my spine as quite abruptly I realized the Darkling was leaning against the door, studying me with near palpable intensity.
We sat in silence for what felt like an eternity.
"Do you make it a habit of watching people while they sleep?" I finally hoarsely inquired with an edge of sarcasm, making his lips twitch into that familiar ghost of a smile. It was enough to make my chest ache.

“I could do that. I’m sure I could design an algorithm that uses data to find you the perfect date.” Sherlock reaches for his notebook and pen, already scribbling down ideas, unaware of John staring incredulously at him. At the sound of John’s mug thunking on the wooden table top Sherlock looks up, raising an eyebrow in query.
“W..what?” John crosses his arms and bites at the inside of his bottom lip, studying Sherlock intently before arriving at a decision. “Oh, what the hell. Go on then."

"The pits." I put a knee on the rough stone to steady myself, reaching a hand out to touch at his shoulder and oh. Warm skin. I hadn't felt human heat in weeks, and it was bloody amazing. I was perhaps imagining that my fingers on his wrist brought him back to himself as much as it did me.
He clutched back at my hand with a surprising strength and stared at me intently.
"Who are you?""Colonel Sebastian Moran." It was good, too, to hear a calm voice, I wasn't inclined to deal with a gibbering madman, or some of the ones who fell into an ecstasy as their death neared and the glamours broke through whatever mental defenses they had managed to erect. I’d had an old Sergeant tell me I was going to go far because no glamour had ever broken through and convinced me the feeding of an Old One meant anything more than death. "What's your unit, soldier? Where did they get you?"
"Captain John Watson, Doctor, Fifth Northumberland Fusiliers," the man replied. A doctor no less, that was interesting and surprising he had survived. "You are _the_ Colonel Moran?"

Except nothing is ever simple when dealing with the world's only Consulting Detective. A simple love story that starts out as a lie and grows into something more. Will Sherlock be able to let John go? And what will Mycroft do to insure his brother isn't truly going to bond with such an unsuitable choice as this John Watson. Surely the Holmes name would be scandalized.

John Watson is a broken solider invalided home from Afganastan when he meets charismatic Sherlock Holmes. He spends two years solving crimes and building a professional relationship with his flat mate. While battling the powerful Moriarty, Sherlock realizes he has intense romantic feelings for his partner and goes to great lengths to keep John safe. The more Sherlock tries to control the ex-solider, the more John feels trapped.
John wants to leave Baker St. to gain some gain some perspective and independence from the detective and this drives Sherlock into a panic. Asexual Sherlock has now finds himself in love with John Watson! With Moriarty playing deadly games with John’s life, Sherlock can’t concentrate on solving the case. He needs to keep John safe; but, he needs his brother’s help to possess John forever.Series

The word green was used to convey a great many things. Illness. Envy. Inexperience.
Standing there amidst Janine's chattering bridesmaids, watching Sherlock furrow his brow and study fabric swatches, watching him smile and simper and flirt, John thought it a remarkably apt colour choice. Because he felt quite sick to his stomach, he feared the source of said sickness might very well be jealousy, and he had absolutely no idea at all what to do about it.
Or: Sherlock needs to fake a relationship for a case. He doesn't ask John.
