He had been having a perfectly pleasant morning, enjoying his tea on his one weekend off, sitting up on the hill that separated him from the rest of the village.
Having gotten a good night of sleep, the kind that rests in your chest even after you’ve waken up, lingering in the lightness of your feet and the quickness of your movements, he was quite relaxed, and he didn’t even have a stray chicken come in from the coop that was barely strong enough to hold itself together through a few harsh rainstorms.
It was, by far, the most peaceful morning that Alhaitham had had the pleasure of living through in a long time.
So, of course, there had to be a major upset to balance out the truckload of good luck that had been it’s predecessor.
For example, the man currently sitting outside in the wreckage of his chicken coop, violently snarling while holding a sword bigger than Alhaitham.

Summary
Mehrak has this habit of opening Kaveh’s door when it’s not fully closed, nosing her way into his office and then leaping onto his lap to snuggle her head into his stomach. So he’s not entirely unsurprised when he hears the door creak open, slow and deliberate the way his cat always does it, and he doesn’t even look up to check that it’s her before he speaks.
“Not right now, solnyshko,” he calls distractedly, too focused on his current sketch.
There’s silence, as there usually is since Mehrak can’t actually respond to him. Then, “Don’t be so vulgar, senior.”
Kaveh accidentally calls Al-Haitham a pet name in a different language, and then he keeps doing it. It's too bad he forgets that Al-Haitham is fluent in all of them.

Al-Haitham sets down the letter, letting out a long sigh. After all, isn’t the answer to dealing with domestic disputes not marriage? Isn’t that entirely contradictory to the issue?
Kaveh sends Al-Haitham martial summons to sort out their issues. Unfortunately, he makes a small error in the letter.

“Can you not require saving for one day?” asks the most annoying superhero that Kaveh has had the displeasure of coming across.
If Kaveh had the choice, he wouldn't choose to be saved by the same infuriating superhero all the time, but it's not really up to him. Unfortunately.

“Though I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised,” says Kaveh. He straightens up, feels something in his jaw click. “He’s always been normal, hasn’t he? I’m the abnormal one. I’m the one who’s always at fault. I’m the reason we broke up.”
The silence that follows confuses him for a moment, and then the shocked expressions mirrored from Tighnari’s face to Nilou’s bring Kaveh crashing unceremoniously down to reality.
“Oh,” he says. His friends are still staring at him. “Right, yeah. Al-Haitham and I broke up.”
After four years of dating, Kaveh and Al-Haitham break up.
Obviously, Kaveh is fine about it.

Kaveh knows it's probably a bad idea to start sleeping with your ex-boyfriend that you share an apartment with. Probably.
