"4 months. I...I'm sorry, I never told you, I can get rid of it if you want. And we can adopt, if you want."

“Well. Me too,” Nick insisted, “No, actually it’s not a want, it’s a need!” he added theatrically to make his point.
“That sounds… dramatic?” the other man chuckled, his eyebrow meeting his curls once more.
“It’s my comfort food when I’m stressed,” Nick explained, “and I am stressed,” he added, his voice strongly emphasising on the “am” part for good measure.
“I do feel bad for you, but I need it more. I’m not kidding when I tell you that everything that could have gone wrong,” the other man gestured widely with his hand as if to include the whole world, “did in fact, go wrong. I really need some comfort, peace and quiet.”
