But another thing that he does know, is that Simon is worth it and that they are in this together, both of them willing to put themselves through all of the obstacles if it means they get their happy ending.

What a good thing his mother gave him no saying; the Queen always had the last word. After a calamitous summer and accidents that had happened, her call was to send him away to a boarding school.
Wilhelm couldn’t fit in. His brother’s friends weren’t his. Every step he took, they compared him to Erik. His roommate exasperated him and, most importantly, he hated the guts of the guy who lived next door.Or: In which Wilhelm and Simon are sworn enemies and Wilhelm has to learn how to live again.

When Wilhelm’s depression gets the best of him and he takes his life, he wakens the morning of his enrolment into Hillerska Boarding School. With a second chance of doing things, Wilhelm vows to do things correctly this time and not take the cowardly way out. With things going his way and the troubles of the past avoided, he finds new problems raising and a whole different situation making itself known. He had lived through the House of Bernadotte not supporting his sexuality before but with Erik alive and being able to come out how he wants, Wilhelm realizes that it’s now the opposite of what happened he has to deal with.
But can he protect Simon this time?

It only took Simon a few seconds to see him, someone new, standing by the table piled high with drinks, and looking straight at Simon. Not in the way people usually looked, like they were a little star-struck, faces filled with eagerness or, too often, calculating jealousy. This boy was looking at Simon in a way that was almost predatory, barely blinking. It would have been a little off-putting, except the new guy was hot—tall with brown hair that was somehow both short and also looked primed to flop into his face, dressed casually in a polo and jeans, with that intense look in his eyes.
