Alberto clearly remembered that conversation, as if it had happened only a few days before and not 7 YEARS before. That feeling of drowning that he had felt feeling that Luca didn’t want to run away with him had disappeared. The wound had healed and now he was going to realize his dream!
It had taken several years but it was ready to go! He was ready to see the world!

Kaoru is quiet for a second, and that moment weighs on Kojiro’s heart like lead. “You mean…not just the two—I, I mean…” Another pause. “O, okay,” he stammers eventually. “Okay, umm…sure, I’ll go.” Kojiro smiles slightly. He hasn’t even extended the invitation yet but they both knew where this was going, anyway. Why wouldn’t they? They’ve been together since forever. That’s why I wanted to spend my last weekend here with just you, Kojiro sulks, scratching his head. At least you’re coming…for what it’s worth. “What time?” Kaoru clears his throat.
“I’ll forward the details,” Kojiro tells him. The details he never came up with. “Thanks, Kaoru.”
Kaoru makes a sound, then hangs up. He’s disappointed.
Kojiro is leaving for Italy and of all the things Kaoru can send him off with, it’s a misunderstanding.
