    "Let me guess: you don’t approve of the way it went down.”

    “No,” Seth confirmed, and turned. Punk followed him around the kitchen island until it was between them. It was apt, really. The company stood between them too, with Seth – the bright future – on one side, and Punk the opposing side, the past. An albatross weighing down progress, stymying innovation. Seth thought a bridge could be built but Punk  had burned it first. “I don’t.”

    He scratched his chin.  “And you don’t approve of the fact I left, either.”

    “Obviously. Not a single person in the company wanted you gone.”

    “I can think of one person,” Punk said, his lip curling. “Your memory is pretty fuckin’ short.”
