Summary
If you tell the same story enough times, the ending can change. This time ain’t the one where it changes.
Zanka never got rid of his addiction to that shit in Jabber’s claws. When Team Akuta gets back from Penta half-alive and is sucked into one of Cthoni’s portals, all Zanka can worry about is how much worse the crash will be if he can’t get high off Jabber anymore. Or at least, that’s his easiest excuse to himself. Inside the belly of a massive trash beast, he has to make the choice whether or not to listen to Jabber.
He chooses to keep walking forward.

Summary
All it takes is one cut from Jabber’s left claw to fuck Zanka up. No matter how many times he keeps trying to kid himself, he's addicted. He knows it's bad, and that he needs to run away as fast as his feet can take him, but everything feels so much better when Mankira cuts through his skin. When it comes time to make a real choice, neither option feels like a definitive "good" or "bad".

Sometimes the onus of responsibility shifts onto us whether through a will, a dying request, or our own sense of guilt. Vital instruments feel even more important to take care of once someone dies.

Summary
He doesn’t want to be alone. He thinks he’ll die if he’s alone again. The few moments he’s been here with Hinata have been bliss to him, despite the regretful insults he’s been throwing at the poor boy.
No, stay! Please...
“Yes, please leave!”
Hinata narrows his eyes, and Komaeda knows he has the strength, and definitely the right mindset to rip his hand from Komaeda’s grip, but he doesn’t.
