COMMENT (technical): This author knows how to capture so much feeling within the descriptions and the dialogue. Every chapter is its own one shot set in the same canon universe, told out of order, so each one is a new experience for the reader to hop into. The time jumps are never jarring or feel out of place because the author writes with clarity but not in a way that's heavy handed.
COMMENT (personal): The first and fifth chapters were our favorites! We enjoy a healthy dose of whimsy to go with our angst and this fic gives us both in every chapter. It also gives a variety without ever feeling disconnected. Plus, all the prompts were used for each one shot and it takes a lot of creativity to smush all those together and create something this beautiful!
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: this fic is basically 7 Orufrey In Love stories for the price of one click and that will always be worth it to us!

COMMENT (technical): This story is formatted as a numbered list of the kisses Orufrey share throughout their day, starting from the moment they wake up, and this creates an interesting rhythm in the piece. It's smooth transitions and distinctly different vignettes capture the reader from start to finish. There are only a few lines of dialogue but the descriptions say a lot in its place.
COMMENT (personal): We love Orufrey happiness just as much as we love Orufrey angst/drama and seeing the domesticity in their kisses brings us a significant amount of joy. It's just so sweet, they're so in love here.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: If you look at the dictionary's entry for "tooth rotting fluff", this fic will make an appearance there. What's not to love about that?

TAGS WE ADD: //PLOT: Olruggio must return to his hometown for a long overdue eye appointment and, in doing so, he stirs up old memories and the urge to reach out to an old friend. (Of course, he gives in. Thankfully, it works out for him.)
COMMENT (technical): The attention to detail in this story is immersive. It shows especially in the way scenes are built and makes this Modern AU easy to dive headlong into! The writing is descriptive and thorough yet also witty and silly at times, which feels true to a story written from Olruggio's point of view. It's Olruggio focused as we follow him around and get to see how he interacts with and thinks around other people.
COMMENT (personal): We love seeing Orufrey get a deserved happy ending! But also the awkwardness that it can take for them to get there. Both of them are adorable in this fic and all the other characters are equally delightful to see. They also wanted Orufrey to figure everything out, even if it took a whole lot of meddling to get them there!
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: this is a full meal and a dessert that is almost too sweet to handle, all in one! Like romance movies with depth to the world and characters? Fond of Olruggio? Then this one has everything you could want!

TAGS WE ADD: Character study, hopeful endingPLOT: Qifrey, injured after the events of the Silver Eve Festival, reveals secrets to Olruggio and the two of them have to navigate their now more complicated relationship in the aftermath.
COMMENT (technical): the introspection on each of the characters is both succinct and thorough. The author knows how to get an impactful meaning across in the span of a paragraph or two. The pacing makes you want to read it all at once and makes it feel shorter than it actually is.
COMMENT (personal): we love reading different takes on what will happen next in the manga! We long for that cathartic conversation between Qifrey and Olruggio so badly and this fic hits that note very well! Chapter 2 in particular was our favorite to read!
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: yes, there is angst aplenty here and it is delicious. On a day where you're wishing the manga had more chapters for you to consume, you should read this fic.

TAGS WE ADD: //PLOT: The atelier is not yet their home, Olruggio and Qifrey need to make it theirs as they're moving there and there's something weird with Qifrey. He has frequents headache and he doesn't look comfortable in spaces with a lot of light. To make things worse, Olruggio breaks Qifrey's glasses.
COMMENT (technical): the story follows Olruggio's POV, his worries and his feelings, and it makes you feel as if something is wrong, as if a secret weights over the entire story. It's a story written in a interesting way, the author describes Qifrey with an heartbreaking tone and they give you a little hope things are going to be okay (while knowing it won't be easy to make them okay)
COMMENT (personal): the story is bittersweet, even if the author's put the Angst tag to prepare us to a deeper pain. Olruggio is a character who's dear to the author and this love makes him the perfect MC, because it translates in a vibrant character, in thousand of thoughts and layers and hopes.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: Olruggio worries for Qifrey, and he makes a mistake (breaking Qifrey's glasses) and he fixes it. Between all the tragic situations of Qifrey, the author gave us an example of love like this.

COMMENT (personal): after chapter 88 we've got a lot of truth revealed orufrey and every author's puts something from them and their personality and we think it's beautiful. The author of this story wants us to know about Olruggio's point of view, Olruggio's feelings and Olruggio's contradictionsthat are so full of love it's impossible no to fall in love with him and the author's ability to portray him.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: I know you love Olruggio, I know you love fics written after chap 88, so you'll love this fic, 100% sure

COMMENT (technical): the story recalls a playwright, giving the readers a brief introduction. The characters move in a one-shot scene freely in our head, while their words float poetically from Qifrey to Olruggio and then from Olruggio to Qifrey. The pacing is good there's no dead moment or empty space, where words are dragged around: the dialogue is poetic and heartfelt and every word has been chosen with care!
COMMENT(personal): reading about orufrey communicating is maybe the best thing that happened to us. It's refreshing reading about them being honest and speaking with the heart in hand, how beautiful is to read about Qifrey being open and vulnerable!
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: anti divorce orufrey is here and we love it (nothing beats forgiveness and new starts)(only orufrey asking for forgiveness and granting forgiveness and having new beginnings beats it!)

COMMENT (technical): the narration is smart, it plays in a tell-don't tell prose that wants us to know something before reading this story, something that is a secret for the character who's telling this story. It has a name, not sure about it in English but you have to know the techniques used smartly, in a fun way, in an entertaining way! Olruggio's POV is cute and sweet and we can feel how he worries for Qifrey, how he wants to know this secret too (but he's not sure how) and it's really good.
COMMENT (personal): the story is simple, the story is cute and well-written, it leaves you wanting more!WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: after reading chap 88 there's an hunger for knowing more about Qifrey and Olruggio's past, how they live with this big secret between them and this story tells us something we'd love to read!

TAGS WE ADD: //PLOT: it's a family tradition for the family of the atelier, building a pillow fort and reading stories together. One night, Qifrey reads them a story about magic, written by an Unknowing, who wrote how the most important thing is not magic, but love, friends and family and the family of the atelier discusses its message, while Qifrey is sure that his family deserves love, but he can't desire love.
COMMENT (technical): The story can be divided in two parts. The family part, where Qifrey is teacher and father, and the second part, where Qifrey is husband and friend. The two parts already balanced and united by the introspection of the character (Qifrey). Narration, dialogue and introspection are used egregiously.
COMMENT (personal): we love to see Qifrey suffering. We love this character and when he suffers and when Olruggio comes and, trying to stop Qifrey from suffering, he suffers too. The story is bittersweet, because Qifrey knows things that prevent him from hive all his love to his family, he loves with all his heart, but Love is still there. The love between the characters is still there and it changes everything.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: there's hope in this story, if you look for it. There's pain, but there's joy too, there's a promise for a future joy, too.

COMMENT (technical): this story is introspective and full of descriptions that make you feel inside the story. The author has the perfect techniques to make you feel inside the atelier, making it feel like home. The way they describe home and then the storm, how Olruggio feels watching Qifrey, how you can feel how Qifrey is hurting and how Olruggio is hurting too but how he can comfort him still, the kindness in his words and actions are perfectly conveyed. The prose has a perfect balance between introspection, description and dialogue, every character moves and the author knows how to not let them in a vacuum
COMMENT (personal): we love to read a fic that breaks your heart and heals you at the same time and this fic does it. There's a level of bittersweet between the words and in the metaphor the author uses, how the flowers are a symbol of the characters' relationship and their state of mind, the promise of spring and new beginnings.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: this fic is about a quiet life, the highs and downs of it, what happens when you permit yourself to feel your emotions and how it could be healing, how it could bring your loved ones a little closer

COMMENT (technical): the prose is good, the story focus on dialogues in the first part and in action in the second. It's kind of complementary and it suits the ages of the characters.
COMMENT(personal): if the prose and the technique give a contrast in the prose of the story, really Olruggio and Qifrey stay kind of the same, in them there are still the innocence and naivety of their younger selves and it's so sweet
WHY SHOULD YOU READ IT: sometimes we need to remember our inner child is full of promises and hope and joy, not only hurt, and we think this story will help you remember it!

Summary
“Olly?” Qifrey asks and knocks one final time, but still no answer. “Olly, I’m coming in.” He announces after no reply and crosses through the hallway connecting the buildings together over to Olruggio’s living space.
He sets down the basket on a table, glancing around the quiet room looking for any signs of life from his friend, only to receive still no answer. Nothing seemed to be out of order, just the usual chaotic mess of Olruggio’s quarters with supplies sitting around.
Finally taking the last few steps, he reaches the watchful eye’s work room and finds him: asleep at his desk, leaning forward hunched over upon folded arms. His hair is askew, most likely from running his fingers too often in frustration, but when Qifrey’s eyes unabashedly roam the man’s body, he spots one hand bandaged up.

COMMENT (technical): The author's prose is direct and they know how to capture the voices of Qifrey and Olruggio pretty well. There a little contrast between the narrative part and the conversations the characters have because of this and it's beautiful, because you can hear Qifrey talk with his "oh dear". Lovely.
COMMENT(personal): we liked the story. Hearing Qifrey and Olruggio talk about work and dinner and Qifrey attending to a little injured Olruggio is sweet and relaxing. We like how the girls are in the story, how they too have a voice in a "family affair" how they still don't notice little things but they are there. This story brings a little joy!
WHY SHOULD YOU READ IT?
This fic is a story that brings comfort even in the most ordinary days, when you think you don't need it -

COMMENT (technical): the story is a one-take scene, it starts with a brief flashback to explain the symbolism of drowning, and the author is good at using their words and their introspection to make the reader drown with the characters. The story is full of descriptions and introspection and they enrich the story that may appear simple but it's full of care.
COMMENT (personal): we love this story, it's full of emotions and symbols and orufrey being passionate and (bitter)sweet adults!
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: orufrey are cute, it has a calm and mature tone, and it reads as part of the canonical story!

COMMENT (technical): the author's prose has something hypnotic, something that has the magic of taking you away and letting you feel every little thing and then nothing at all and then again every little thing.
The story starts with a feeling, not with a conversation and not even with a description, but with the feeling of being lost, of being taken aback while lost, and it's a beautiful paragraph where you can read of Qifrey's mind and feel as lost as him. The rest of the story is written with the same earnestness and affection. The way Olruggio and Qifrey talk to each other, how desperate Qifrey's voice sounds... the author did an egregious job and we thank them.
COMMENT (personal) + why you should read this story: The story conquered us from the very first period. It's beautiful, it's deep, it's delicate, it's a feeling and a happy ending tear. Because it makes you cry, but it also makes you happy. The more you like a story the more is difficult to explain why. The characters are alive on the ao3 page, they breath and you can hear them crying and touching hands. We loved the repetition of "I'm sorry" "I know" because the author builded an heartbreaking atmosphere and the characters are heart-broken, and the reader feels helpless and we love to feel helpless.
A reason to read this story is the catharsis it brings to us, how it hurts and how it calms you down.

TAGS QUE NOSOTROS AÑADIMOS: Familia de el Atelier, Non-Sexual Intimacy, Dancing, MasqueradeTRAMA: Es una noche libre la de Olruggio y Qifrey, una noche de fiesta en la que perderse bailando el uno entre los brazos del otro.
COMENTO (técnico?): le escritore empieza la fic con una conversación, ayudando quien está leyendo a imaginarse voces y personajes en una carta blanca, que mano a mano se llena de detalles y colores. Le escritore sabe como pintar un ambientación y come describir situaciones, haciendo mover Olruggio y Qifrey en el espacio (y en el tiempo) con naturalidad sin hacer a un lado el pacing de la historia. Nos gustó como en la primera parte las cuatro niñas fueran introducidas como personajes a través de la conversación entre Olruggio y Qifrey y la ternura con la que los dos hablan de las niñas, dando un sentido de ternura y familia.
Le escritore posee una prosa contorneda de flores. Todas las flores son escogidas con atención y precisión, ninguna de ellas es superflua, y juntas pintan un cuadro mágico y único.
COMENTO PERSONAL + PORQUÉ LEER ESTA HISTORIA: la ambientación fue el motivo por el cual escogimos esta historia. Todes saben cuanto un baile en máscara es romántico y todes saben que ver a los orufrey bailar es motivo de joya y felicidad, no podíamos no entretenernos a leer y la prosa de le escritore, y la maestría en la historia nos encantó. Le autore no mentía cuando hablaba de Fluff y de dulzura en los tags. Ni en un momento nos dolió el corazón, pero sí se nos pusieron rojas la mejillas de la ternura.
Esta es una historia que se lee cuando el mundo es demasiado cruel y tenemos que sanar un poquito nuestras heridas. Leerla trae un poco de felicidad.
