Summary
"There has to be something you want to come back for. Something you can’t die without doing.”
Robby’s gaze roamed across Dennis's face. Traced the planes and sharp angles of his features like he was trying to commit them to memory. He already had a long time ago. Dennis and the horrible knot in his chest dedicated to him were pieces of Robby that he tried, time and time again, to rip out. Always to no avail.
If he had anything to come back for, it’d be this one thing.
"Marry me," Robby said.
Robby, about to head out for his sabbatical and never return, thinks to hell with it—nothing matters except for the very real, very inappropriate feelings he's been harboring for his first-year resident. So he proposes. And before he can take it back, Whitaker says yes.

Summary
Before he could ask what he was talking about, one of Jack’s strong hands grabbed his face, thick fingers forcing his jaw to open. The other hand was on his chest, keeping him locked in place.
Robby pressed the knife into his forearm, red blood welling up at the wound immediately.
No, no. He did not want blood. The blood would make him what he didn’t want to be. It would confirm what he was trying to deny. It would confirm the sin that had taken root inside of him.
Dennis felt fangs sliding out of his gums, heavy and sharp. He started salivating, wanting to taste the blood, needing to taste it.
or;
Freshly turned vampire Dennis finds himself on the doorstep of two vampire hunters. They promise him safety, in exchange for information.

Summary
“You’re old,” Dennis says, watching the mature lines around Robby’s eyes shift as he raises an eyebrow.
“I don’t know what you mean by that, Whitaker, but I expect professionalism from you, whatever this is,” Robby declares, stepping to the side, but before he can escape Dennis’s trap, the omega follows, pressing his chest even more firmly against the alpha. The lockers creak in protest as the alpha’s back hits them hard.
“A-and… and… you don’t have children, and you’re not married,” Dennis continues, searching for the words and raising his tone with each one. His chin lifts higher, trying to draw Robby’s eyes to his.
The alpha merely narrows his eyes and parts his lips without making a sound. Dennis is quicker to silence him:
“It is not at all sensible to court a married omega, Doctor Robby.”
Or: Dennis is tired of hearing the murmurs that follow Doctor Robby’s name, so he decides for both of them to accept the marriage proposal. Though, to be clear, Robby had never actually proposed.

Summary
Robby really shouldn’t feel so much pleasure in that simple promise. It’s an underling trying to appease his boss at his own expense. Logically, he knows that if the hospital admin got wind of what just happened in here, he’d be fired faster than he could blink. He just has a hard time caring, because while he may try to seem like a fun guy, Robby knows better. The thing about him is that deep down, he’s a terrible prick. That’s why there’s this sick part of him that wants to see how far Dennis would go to please. It’s almost sad, in a way. How badly he just wants to be wanted, to be chosen. By any means necessary.
