And the women in white have been talking amongst themselves about the difference between things and not-things, and being human, and when killing's necessary or when it isn't (he could have fired into their Imperator's head instead of the sand when he had her pinned, defeated, and it escapes none of their notice), and it's making him want to bay at the stars in frustration.

Which Moana hasn't, of course, hasn't given any thought at all to kissing him until the moment it happened. Maui is so much taller than she is- her head only reaches part of the way up his chest, he has to bend down to see her eye-to-eye. And he's so much broader, arms thicker around than her waist, legs like tree trunks. Bigger than anyone else she's ever met, and in idle moments Moana wonders if it's because he's a demigod or if it's just him.
