The change in House is noticeable the second he steps out of Mayfield. For starters, he looks different. The haircut is new, of course, but that’s not all. He looks… Serene. Content. Like he’s fully present for the first time in 15 years. Wilson’s overcome with so much pride he nearly wants to cry.
He clears his throat instead. “You look good.” He offers.
And then, to his enormous surprise, House hugs him. A hug. Wilson doesn’t remember the last time they hugged. Maybe at his last wedding? Or was it the one before that? It takes Wilson a moment to get over the shock, but after a few seconds he stiffly hugs back.

Seeing him in detox gave Wilson conflicting emotions. On the one hand, Wilson felt guilty that he had been enabling House’s addiction in the first place. But it was harder to deny him the pain-killers. Especially after the infarction. When House woke up with half his thigh muscle missing, he had been in excruciating pain and so so mean. Wilson didn’t know what else to do for him to help him get back to his old self. Holding his hand and shushing him wouldn’t have done jack shit, that’s for sure.
Yet, here he is now, pupils blown wide and asking for it himself.
“Can you just,” House paused. “I need you to touch me, after.”
He was so beautiful like this, blue eyes almost childlike, so trusting and open.
...
Wilson doms House to help a bro out, or at least that's his excuse.

Summary
Wilson’s fist connected with the bridge of House’s nose and the crack of it resounded louder in the cavern of House’s head than in the room around them, he was sure of it. The sound ricocheted from the place where Wilson had touched all the way through House’s shaken brain and then erupted out of the base of his spine as he fell back against the carpet that on further inspection, he had missed rather greatly. Then, as Wilson gasped and clutched his hand, the pain drifted away and outwards into a sensation that House could only determine as pride. Proud of Wilson for doing something for once. Proud of him for sticking up for himself.

When House had picked the movie out, saying it was a decision based on Wilson’s preferences rather than his own, Wilson was skeptical. The past four movies they've watched have been gorey horror flicks that Wilson can barely stomach, so a peaceful cowboy movie seemed out of place. Of course, it wasn’t a peaceful cowboy movie, but Wilson didn’t need to know that.
