    Why is this kid acting like his own personal guard dog? And why were all these crazy attractive omegas suddenly coming out of the woodworks all the sudden? And again, why was this kid growling at– oh my god did he just bite him?? Rocky, no! We don’t bite people!!

    Grace really should have just called CPS or taken the scraggly little homeless kid that broke into his apartment to a police station or something.

    “Dr. Grace is very well respected on this ship, Friedrich,” Dr. Cohen says with a hint of reproach. “While you’re here, perhaps it is best not to say such things in polite company.”
    Vale rolls his eyes, but lets the subject drop with a muttered, “Really, what could Grace do to me?”
    The astrophysics team experiences a collective realization: Friedrich Vale might be a complete idiot, actually.

    Or, Friedrich Vale is the newest scientist on Stratt's Vat. Friedrich Vale, for whatever reason, does not like Dr. Ryland Grace. Friedrich Vale is about to have a VERY bad time.
    Featuring the crew of Stratt's Vat being totally prepared to throw a bitch overboard if they so much as give Dr. Grace a dirty look, because he's too nice to do it himself.

    Olesya wonders if Dr. Xi has picked up on this ‘thing’ that everyone seems to be thinking about, but no one is saying. The way Grace seems to go limp, pliant, easy when touched. It’s the alcohol, but it’s something else too. Something unquantifiable.

    Grace doesn’t appear to know that he’s the new variable in their equation, the puzzle that everyone is trying to solve.
