Summary
“If, one day, I lose control… destroy Mondstadt, destroy everything… Can I rely on you to stop me?”
Albedo was always prepared to die by Aether’s hands if it meant saving everyone else. He’d never stopped to consider that the traveller would instead force Albedo into destroying the city with a much more excruciating method — one friend at a time.
Thus, Albedo is slowly but surely reclaimed by the abyss.

Aether is finally able to drag Albedo out of his laboratory after spending three days straight working on a way to reverse his cat-like features from an experiment-gone-wrong. What they both find out a little too late is that alcohol only makes Albedo’s situation harder to control.

Albedo heard a sound; just as faint as the ache in his body. He felt a weight on him too, but it didn’t bother him; the weight itself wasn’t hurting him. Perhaps a curious bird had just landed on his chest.
He focused his ears to hear the bird’s song. It was strange; there was no rhythm to it, and it sounded like it was trying to speak. Or, no, it wasn’t a bird’s song.
The more Albedo focused, the more he realised it was a human voice, talking; saying his name. As he began to recognise the voice more and more, so too did the pain increase tenfold and then again. What he first mistook as a dull ache was in reality a paralysing pain, making Albedo’s body stiffen. The voice he thought was a soft birdsong was actually a panicked yell.

Albedo is forced to accept the fate laid out for him centuries ago — to break ties with everyone he loves for the sake of his festering corruption.

Worry slowly seeped into Aether’s mind. “Albedo.” He reiterated.
Kaeya scratched his ear awkwardly. “Yeah, I have no idea who that is,”
The traveler straightened up, frustrated. “Albedo! You know who Albedo is! Klee’s older brother! Klee, you know who Albedo is, don’t you?”
Klee paused, exaggerating a deep-in-thought pose with her hand to her chin. “Older brother… do you mean like Razor? I guess Klee sees him as a brother!”

Albedo is apparently erased from the memory of everyone in Mondstadt, and it’s left to Aether to reintroduce the alchemist to his family and past life within human society.

“Promise?” Klee held out her pinkie finger.
“I promise” He agreed truthfully, holding her finger in his.

The claws of Durin’s corruption are finally taking ahold of Albedo, and he is left with no other choice but to resort to desperate measures in order to slow it’s progression over his mind and body. His experiment’s results don’t go as he planned, causing him to wind up missing for over half a year, and when he is found he is almost unrecognisable.

Summary
Albedo was so accustomed to loneliness that he didn’t even notice it before Aether entered his life. Like a falling star, he crashed into Albedo’s world and destroyed it, a cataclysmic event that remade his life.

Summary
Whoever this young man was, the artist had loved him. And it had likely been unrequited. Albedo felt an acute stab of sympathy for the painter. The loneliness and desire that poured out of these images was almost too much to bear. Looking at the portrait hurt, and yet Albedo couldn’t tear his eyes away. It forced you to gaze upon it, to long for the subject to finally turn around and look back at you.
Albedo becomes captivated by a mysterious portrait in the local museum.
