    Mando'a, lit. "Little Commanders".

    At the beginning of the Clone Wars, the Jedi Council began fearing they would lose one of their best - Anakin Skywalker. In their fear of him quitting the Order, they issued him a padawan. It was a desperate move, and one they weren't exactly proud of, but it worked. Not only did Ahsoka Tano wind up a competent leader and devoted Jedi, but her master also grew closer to the Order and the other jedi around him as a result.

    As the war has dragged on, many masters have either died or been forced to compromise their principles. No longer satisfied with current events, even the most loyal among them have questioned their actions and faith.

    In short: well, if it works once...
    ...
    Or: everyone gets a padawan, everything is dramatic, and the jedi half-forgot how absolutely Mandalorian their clones are and left their children in adoption-range. Expect shenanigans, misadventures, and Palpatine's unfortunate, humiliating demise. What a shame.

    Finally, after months of begging, Katooni has her own mission. It’s a test, really—Master Ahsoka says if she wants to learn Jar’Kai, she needs a second lightsaber, which means she needs a second kyber crystal. It's not as easy as going to Ilum this time though. Whatever. It’s not like she’s a Jedi anyways. And there are other ways to get a kyber crystal besides finding a brand new one.

    There are definitely more stormtroopers patrolling today than there were four days ago. They walk in pairs, blasters down, scanning the area. One of them looks at her as he passes, so she gives him a big smile. Master is so dismissive of the troopers, but Katooni figures it doesn’t hurt to try to be friendly. That way they won’t be sad if she has to kill them.

    The trooper puts his hand to his ear. Must be getting a comm through his helmet. Katooni could tune her comm to their channel, listen to their chatter. It would be useful—it’s likely that the stormtroopers are here for the same reason she is. But as she’s pulling her comlink from her pocket, something in the corner of her eye shines in the light and she has to see what it is.
