Baz is tired. And done. He’s just spent 6 weeks in a coffin, for Crowley’s sake, and he thinks he deserves some peace. He just wants to get through 8th year as normally as he can, and maybe even enjoy it, maybe even date someone so he can distract himself from his unrequited feelings for Snow. And then Simon Snow can drive a stake through his heart at the end of the year and live his destiny. But like always, Baz never gets what he wants.

Summary
Simon figured the Pitches didn’t exactly encourage being open and honest about feelings. Unsurprising, but a little sad. Baz always acted aloof, as though nothing got to him, except with Simon. Simon could always get to Baz.
(When Simon can’t take out his frustration on Baz by fighting him in their room because of the anathema, he resorts to more... unconventional methods).

Summary
Eight weeks into their final year at Watford, Baz finally returns—and he's riddled with nightmares. Simon, for more reasons than he'd like to think about, has been sleeping poorly too.
Frayed nerves and a fragile truce carve out a space for them in the dark of night. Their room atop the tower becomes a place where they can talk and ache and profess and yearn, slowly, slowly.
Sharing a room (with a siren) (with an open fire) is sometimes more than either one can bear. Baz wants more, but can't have it; Simon has no idea what he wants.

Summary
It wasn’t for them to be together. They were enemies, two sides of a line long ago drawn. If you asked Simon he would say it was inevitable. It was the type of day for accidents and mistakes. If you asked Baz, he would tell you it was a misunderstanding. It was the product of a very intense day.
It was only one silly mistake. And yet, it seemed to be clouding everything. It was a silly mistake that Simon hadn’t been able to stop thinking about. It was one that Baz wanted to repeat until his legs gave out, and his throat closed, and his mouth turned dry.
It was a mistake that started everything.
