Summary
[Sent 12:03] Buck, is there something you want to tell me?
[Sent 12:11] I’ve just spent 5 minutes staring at my phone trying to think of something and I can’t think of anything?
[Sent 12:13] I was referring to your tour of Harbor on Monday. I thought we agreed that you would come to me if you were ever thinking about transferring?

From going back to work after the lightning strike through various traumas, disappearing cruise ships, identity discoveries, injuries, cartels, bees, and all the way to forgetting your friend’s birthday, it’s the story of Buck and Bobby navigating the ups and downs of life between season 6b and 8a, as told by text messages (including some unsent messages and an occasional cameo from some other characters).
(Note: this story can standalone or be read as part of the wider series)

Summary
It felt like it took them forever, but Bobby's phone showed that they'd been connected for thirty-two minutes and eighteen seconds by the time they were pulling up in front of a bench that had a miserably wet figure huddled on it.
He jumped out as soon as the car slowed to park at the curb, drops of rain hitting his skin like frozen pinpricks and exacerbating the concern he’d been trying to control.
“Bobby, the umbrella –” Athena called after him, exasperated. “You can’t help if you also get soaked.”
He cursed internally but turned to grab the umbrella. He didn’t care so much about himself, but the quicker that Buck was shielded from the freezing sheet of rain bearing down on them the better.
--
Or, Buck's post-lightning strike run doesn’t go as planned. Cue protective Bobby and a self-indulgent amount of fluff.

Summary
[Sent 20:00] I’m sorry I still haven’t gone to visit you. For some reason the texting is easier.
Maybe it’s because a part of me is still hoping that you’ll somehow respond.
I know that’s illogical and it would make you worry. But I can’t stop myself from hoping anyway no matter how stupid it is.
--
Or, Buck copes with Bobby’s death by sending him text messages (featuring the occasional cameo text thread from the rest of the family).
[Note - this story can stand alone and there is no need to read the first part of the series. They are only connected by virtue of being Buck and Bobby epistolary fics]

Summary
Tommy has a very large house. He knew it didn’t make sense: he was a single man, no family to speak of, living in an expensive city… But he’d gotten it cheap because it needed a lot of work (in fairness, so did he) and maybe, just maybe, one day he would be able to fill that stupidly big house with the family he’d been craving for so many years.
And then he gets pulled back into the 118 and meets Evan Buckley, who has a very extensive (found) family but is still searching for the elusive puzzle piece that will make him truly feel like he’s found his place.
Together, they build their home.

Summary
Tommy has always been able to see ghosts.
Usually, they stick around for a few days or weeks, maybe several months before they get what they need to move on. There was one ghost, however, who appeared when Tommy was young and seemed to be unable to get the closure he needed to let go and so he just… never left.
He got used to it, after a while, and Daniel became a consistent companion throughout his life.
–
Or, the one where Tommy can see ghosts and is haunted by Daniel Buckley for reasons it takes him almost thirty years to understand.

Summary
A set of canon compliant texting fics. They can each stand alone and be read separately if preferred - the first is fluffier and showcases Buck and Bobby's relationship from pre-canon to the lightning strike, the second part picks up immediately after this and goes through Season 7 and part of Season 8 (to 8x13). The final part is set in the aftermath of 8x15 and focuses on Buck's grief.

Summary
The AU where Bobby adopted Evan when he was six years old, and then twenty years later Eddie joins the 118 and starts dating Buck... and no one initially realises that Evan and Buck are, in fact, the same person. Part 1 is the story of the identity shenanigans and the reveal.
Part 3 is a collection of missing scenes from the original story, while Parts 4 ('how it could have gone') and 5 ('another way it could have gone') are outtakes and depict two different scenarios where the reveal of Buck and Evan being the same person go a different way.
Part 2 'oh captain my captain' is a prequel and shows the 118 meeting Bobby and then later on Evan.
Part 6 'these are the days we've been waiting for' is the story of Buck's first day at the 118.
Part 7 'may you live in interesting times' is a sequel to that takes place about a year or so later, and Part 8 'I once was lost (but now I'm found)' directly follows on and is a full-length sequel and prequel to the main story.
This series as it is now is standalone and can be considered complete. The only reason I haven't marked it as such is because I do expect to be adding additional installments at some point in the future. Happy reading!

Two months after their breakup, Tommy’s phone flashes with Evan’s contact for the first time.
“Listen, uh, Eddie- Eddie’s moving. He’s going back to Texas. Chris won’t come back so he’s- he’s going to be closer to his son. Doesn’t want to keep missing big moments, you know? So- so, uh, we’re having a going away party for him on Friday. You’re invited.”

Summary
5+1 moments of the 118 at pride, inspired by @starlingbite's pride poll over on tumblr @9-1-1-polls, and my musing that I could literally picture drag queens fawning all over Bobby trying to call him daddy and squeeze his biceps (because we all know Peter has them which means Bobby does too) and then when they find out he's a captain they're all just calling him that. Then it snowballed.
Check out 9-1-1 polls for great 911 content!

Summary
Buck dies, and he’s cold right away. They all are, this isn’t the kind of summer storm where the rain is almost warm. It’s freezing out here, even under all the layers of their gear. Bobby’s sure his own skin is corpse-cool, but he holds Buck and the harness pulls him stiff in his arms, and his body is cold, and he thinks Wait. It’s happening too fast. Wait. He’s dead, and Bobby lays him carefully on the gurney, and he rides up front with Eddie as they tear through the streets towards the hospital, frantic noise and movement reaching them from the back. He’s dead when they pull up to the doors. The human body begins to decay after four minutes, starts to consume itself, the final hunger. Bobby hears the crack of his sternum when Eddie’s palms press so far into his chest his heart starts to beat again. 43 seconds to spare.
