Charlie’s trying not to notice how his breath catches when the doc gets too close. He’s also trying not to notice how the bodies keep piling up, unsolved. Neither effort is going particularly well.
And if one more person tells him it was a bear, he’s going to shoot something. Probably not a bear.

Louis hadn’t meant to find Lestat.
He’d reckon that Lestat hadn’t meant to be found, either, considering it’d been almost a year since Daniel Malloy had published his interview, and Lestat had yet to come crawling out of the woodwork to tear into him over his ‘gross misrepresentation’ of their lives together. He knows that he’s read the book—even if he had no intention of ever confronting Louis about it, he was far too vain to not read something about himself... if only to nitpick all the supposed inaccuracies. Which... just because Lestat remembered something differently didn’t mean that Louis’ own recollection of events was inaccurate. Of course Lestat would remember things in a way which painted him in the best possible light—
...But then, couldn’t the same thing be said for Louis? That he painted himself as the victim, because to admit any differently would be to admit that Lestat had been right all along. That Louis was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, who desperately clung to shreds of humanity that’d vanished into the ether long before Lestat had gotten his fangs into him. That playing at the kind, compassionate vampire did not actually make him so.
