Summary
The King has locked him into the prison of his own flesh. Made him out of reach of any mortal. His touch, his gaze, his voice are poison. And yet he is still mortal. He needs touch, craves connection, yearns for the pleasure of communion both physical and mental with another person.

Summary
And yet, this was Arthur. Never content; give him what he asked for and he’d only deny he’d ever wanted it. “This is…a dream. You think…it’s the worst? The worst…anyone’s ever…”
“Is that what you want?” Scratch’s crushed-glass voice seethed with sardonic solicitude. “The worst?”

Summary
In 1965, Jules Tivoli figures it’s time to find love again. After all, it’s been long enough since he’s left America—times are changing (and he’s getting older) so what’s the harm?
Just one more round… Maybe he can trust someone again like he did all those years ago.
It turns out, fate has deigned him to meet that person he says destroyed him for one last encore.

Summary
SecUnit survived. Barely. Recovery isn’t in its programming, and neither is letting anyone help—especially not a massive, emotionally overclocked research transport that won’t stop watching and clients, of all things. But being back on ART isn’t the same as being okay. Every system check, every word, every too-quiet silence grates like a glitch. It wants things to go back to normal. But there’s no protocol for what comes after being saved.

Summary
For me it was just someone looking at my code and my kernel operations to copy them. That was all it was. Clinical. A bit embarrassing. It was all business.
To ART, though, this was all pleasure.

Summary
I can feel amusement in the not-feed. It’s not ART. ART’s not here. Isn’t coming back. I knew that so it knew that. We were angry about that. I mean it was angry. Was I angry? It didn’t matter. It wants ART, it wants to be free.
Sorry 2.0. I think I did fuck it up.
In Network Effect Three and ART get to Murderbot in the nick of time to save it from targetControl.
What if they didn't?

Summary
6.83 hours after the incident, it is quiet on the command deck. My drones have cleaned all traces of blood and fluid from the deck and MedSystem is set to high priority in the front of my feed. And SecUnit sits in the same chair it always does. It's sunken into the cushioning, so still it could be in a shutdown, but I can of course feel that it's awake. I haven't let it out of arm's reach since last night.
We are quiet for a long time.
We have to talk about this, I say eventually.
It takes 18 seconds to respond.
We do not, it says with finality.
