“You weren’t asking for that before,” Soren mutters darkly.
“-then you have left me only one option, Soren of the Greil Mercenaries,” the man continues as if Soren hadn’t said anything. “I challenge you to back up your words with steel. Meet me at the dueling grounds south of Duke Felrae’s estate in three days, then we shall see who really is in the right on this matter.”
He places his hand back on the hilt of his sword meaningfully. Rolf sucks in a breath. Everyone around them goes quiet. Oscar moves from pinching the bridge of his nose to suddenly alert, ready to step in as soon as Soren says something.
Soren… looks a little surprised, and, to Rolf’s surprise, faintly amused. He’s not smiling, but he has that look on his face where whatever’s happening has crossed the line into truly provoking his temper.
“Very well then, I accept your challenge,” Soren says evenly, in that same tone from before.
Or: an arrogant noble challenges Soren to a duel over Ike's hand

Summary
Traveling with the Shepherds, Lucina found, was not unlike the journeys she made with her own Shepherds. There were battles, skirmishes with the odd band of Risen, stories swapped and traded over a fire and meal (though the ones she had now were far from the ones she had then - the meat was rich and not stripped from decaying bone, the bread soft and freshly made, the water clean), and of course, accidents and adventures in between.
an au wherein lucina recruits the future children, because that should've been an option in the first place.

Summary
Everyone knows that the gods have numerous children. Besides being responsible for controlling aspects of the world, that's what they're known for. Demigods are a dime a dozen, and while the gods do care for their children, we all know that they are willing to send them to their deaths for 'the greater good,' or sometimes just for a chance at glory.
But what if demigods... didn't exist?
What if there was a Pantheon that couldn't have children with mortals, only producing stillborns and monsters?
Faced with the threat of It's world's timeline being destroyed due to this cosmic error, Fate itself seeks to intervene. It tears through reality and snatches away a select few demigods to gift to It's Pantheon, erasing and manipulating the memories of It's most vulnerable chosen, as well as rewinding the years on all that It takes, to help with the bonding process.
This choice leaves 9 demigods trapped in an Ancient Greece that not even they can recognize. Stranded, disoriented, and stripped of their claims, they must tread carefully, for the roaming monsters are not the only threat.

Summary
Lucina, her younger siblings Morgan and Marc, and all their friends came from an indisputably doomed future. It was only natural they jump at the chance Naga gave them to save their loved ones. Unfortunately an ambush caused Lucina's Shepherds to be separated, scattered across time, making their job exponentially more difficult.
