Baldur's Gate, 2077.
Gale is an ex-corpo who fell from grace. After a betrayal leaves him with a rogue virus in his neck, and a message from his former mentor saying that it is the key to stopping a nefarious plot, Gale finds himself in a spiraling conspiracy filled with kidnapping, murder, and cybernetic implants seizing control. And the keys to stopping it? A shard in his neck containing the virus, orb.exe, and a certain doll named Astarion.

“I’m Charles,” He says, determined to keep eye contact with the boy’s wide, green eyes, “Are you okay?”
The boy doesn’t say anything. He just looks down and rolls up the right sleeve of his shirt, and Charles’ mouth goes dry. Logically, he knew it was there, he knew, he saw the Infected bite into the boy when Charles was under him. But somehow, as they ran, he’d convinced himself he’d saved them both.
“Promise me, Charles,” The name comes as an afterthought, the boy’s voice shaking, “Promise me you’ll kill me when I turn.”
