Lucky for the Enforcer, she was a fucking hex piece, and Vi had always been a sucker for a pretty face. She could blame prison, of course. Five years with less options than she could count on no hands. But, unfortunately, the Enforcer who followed her into the undercity had everything working for her. When Vi first saw her, back at Still Water, she had mistakenly thought of her as an ice queen. Snow white skin, glacial blue eyes, and a cool, frosty tone that just glistened with the poise she must have been raised with. At first, from the Enforcer’s long hair to her prissy uniform, all Vi could think about was frozen water, reflecting back at her in sharp shades of blue.

Summary
And so it goes. For weeks, for months, they dance the same old routine: with each other over the high-rises and in the alleyways of Paris, around each other under the moonlight during their patrols and in the burning heat of the sun when an akuma strikes in the unfortunate daytime. They still chase each other through the streets, swinging high above until they reach the Eiffel Tower and collapse together, giggling, but it feels less and less like they're running away from something and more and more like they're running towards it. Towards the unspoken thing between them.
Chat continues to look ethereal under every light, and Marinette continues to find herself staring a little too long a little too often, but every time Chat notices he has the good grace not to call her out on it.
It goes and it goes, and every day Marinette finds herself falling more and more in love.
