She lied, lied about so many things, and it hurt more and more as that realization slowly sunk in. It burned in his chest, burned hotter than any fire he could wield and forced more heat to drain from his fingers. They were getting cold, his fingers.
Maybe it hurt more because he already knew but refused accept it. Dabi's words only forced him to finally acknowledge every theory he had in the past few months, forced him to take a step back and realize that Midoriya Inko, his mother, had lied about so many things while still never looking him in the eyes.
(Alternatively; Izuku is the secret aftermath of a mistake, Inko is not a stable person, Katsuki would go to jail for his best friend, Hitoshi just wants to be a hero, Shouto gets a brother, and I can't write summaries to save my life! Spoilers, It's a Todoroki!Izuku AU!)

Yuuei's first year heroics department is split in two:
Class 1-A, the newest batch of hero students that are starting their journey into the world of heroics. Bright students who the public adores and eye through their time in the school up until they graduate and debut as new heroes!
Class 1-B however isn't looked at as kindly.
Officially labeled Heroics Rehabilitation Course, Class 1-B, kids with dark backgrounds or dangerous quirks are thrown in one room and taught the good of society and converted into healthy heroes and civilians.

UA has a traitor, and there's no idea who it could be, even after all this time. But one misplaced notebook from a certain quirkless student suddenly makes everything make sense. After all, how could a someone without power make it to a position to become the best, unless he had help from somewhere else? Somewhere that could make him look like a hero, while causing havoc and mayhem with his help?

you're useless, they said
when one is pushed down all their life, the logical course of action would be to give up. And Izuku was so god damn close to doing so. But he didn't. For better or worse (worse, a lot might say, and Izuku might even agree, thought he could never quite bring himself to regret it) his life changed.
So, Izuku looked back to all the people who told him he was useless, to the fate that seemed to agree that he would never be a hero.
