Maybe God or the universe had decided his fate. He didn’t know if this was his destiny but it felt like there was something larger than him at play. Maybe it was the angels doing their job, taking the last wisp of his soul from his dying vessel, preparing him for whatever was next, or perhaps for nothing at all.
He didn’t know. And in the end, it didn’t matter.
