Tim raised his glass for a refill. Silently, Dick poured him another. He shouldn’t, honestly letting Tim come in, letting him sit down, letting him see Dick like this, it was all a mistake. This wasn’t something he should be enabling.

The eyes would stare, rapt attention never once leaving him.
“We missed you.” They whispered, words unanimous and demanding. “Your story hasn’t ended yet.”
He glared from where he sat, painfully aware of the way the store looked uncanny to a set. The register felt fake, manufactured. The lines of cigarettes behind him looked like a poster. Isles of shitty artificial snacks faded into the darkness of the unlit audience.

A shiver ran up Quackity’s spine and he looked away from the water. Rubbing his arms, he tried to get some heat back into his skin even as the soaked clothing stuck to it.
Just as he was about to ask Cucurucho another thousand questions -that would likely go unanswered, the door once again swung open. Cucurucho paused in its hopping as it too looked towards the door.
Quackity leaned forward to get a better look at the newcomer. Only to see himself looking back.

Then stomping steps rang out through the hallway and Bobby came barreling in. Roier and Jaiden both shouted in joy when their boy slammed into them, pulling them into a group hug. She quickly wrapped her arms around them both and squeezed hard, desperate to remember this warmth.
Once Bobby pulled away and pulled out a sign, Jaiden knew the day began.

Watching Kremy’s skinny little silhouette fuss around the camp tidying away his cooking tools and humming under his breath, a tentative bloom of warmth seemed to unfold in Gideon’s chest.
That it? said a mean, hard voice somewhere deep in his heart. You’re just gonna roll over and wag your tail for the first and best fella who feeds you and spares you somethin’ like a kind word?
If he keeps feedin’ me like that? Hell yeah, you bet your ass I will! Gideon answered that voice fervently.

No matter what idea popped into his head or what plan he came up with, there really was no good ending for them. They would die at the hands of the hags or lose themselves completely to the magic of the fey or be subjected to an afterlife of torture or something else, entirely different but just as horrible.
And it’s all Kremy Lecroux’s fault.Or: Kremy realizes they’re all doomed because of him, the others (mostly Gideon) fail to convince him otherwise.
