Chad pats his head. “Is there like a button for your pep talks? Because that started off great, but then you stopped talking about me and then the quality dropped.” He sighs, propping his chin on the tuft of brown hair.
“Unfortunately for you, that is not my thing. I’m running out of English. Any chance you could try to turn that shit on to yourself?”
Robert laughs a bit, and it’s a little wet at the edges. He burrows further into Chad’s warmth.
“Just… just stay. That’s all I need.” Robert says.
Chad exhales through his nose. “You keep asking me to stay, but I haven’t gone anywhere, Bob-Bob.” He presses a kiss into Robert’s hair.
Robert and Chad decide to take the next logical step in their relationship: meeting the family. Unfortunately, Robert has issues with wanting things, and Chad has issues with Chase because Chase has issues with him and has most likely been plotting his death ever since he found out Chad’s the one Robert’s dating.
Wait. Shit. Weren't they supposed to be moving in together?

Robert’s dancing (begrudgingly) with an old superhero friend of his to avoid making a scene had he turned him down. The stares from around the ballroom, the camera flashes from nearby reporters, said superhero’s hands a bit too close to his waist all irritate him to no end.
Meanwhile, Flambae’s watching from the edge of the room, flames curling around his knuckles.
Prism whispers, “You plannin' to torch the next guy who asks him to dance?”
“Depends on who he dances with next,” he growls.
Robert catches his eye across the floor—and with a pleading look—mouths, 'Behave.'He doesn’t.

Robert knew it could happen. The damage to his back from the fall was immense, and there was a chance, but he didn't think it would happen. He didn't think his legs would give up on him. He didn't think there might be a way to fix it. He didn't think the team would care. Seems he got a lot wrong. Might as well take the time to find out who he is without the pressure of Mecha Man on his shoulders and the inability to use his legs. Good thing Flambae is willing to carry him until the uphill battle is won.
