Summary
It should be impossible - having dreams about another person’s life. And yet, Grace kept dreaming about Simon. His life on Mars. The expedition. Horrible flashes of Eden. Impossible, much like the sudden appearance of Sanguis. Like the strange light he saw through images on the terminal.
Simon made it out. Something saved him. It brought him to a friendly alien and a kindhearted man who gave him more compassion than he had known in decades. He didn’t deserve it. They thought he was a botanist, someone who nurtured plants instead of dismembering corpses to feed to the soil.
Rocky wants the new human to get along with Grace. He’s scared and sad, but he seems nice enough. In a way, Grace and Simon remind him of himself and Adrian - like they were destined to meet.They're almost home.

Simon Fischer is a pairs skater in New York, but after a freak accident that earns him the nickname 'Butcher' online, he may be left without a partner, or a career at all.
Ryland Grace is a singles skater but, after a falling out with his coach, who he calls a "staggering waste of carbon", he's left coachless and clubless until he receives a message from a woman named Eva Stratt offering him a chance for a new rink... although she may have left some details out.
With the Olympics on the horizon, and qualifying competitions looming, will these two pull their heads far enough out of their asses to find out how successful they could be? Or will they let their own fears hold them back?

Summary
Ryland Grace has been alone in space for a long time before he starts having dreams of a life he never knew he could yearn for as much as he does. He's no longer in space, he's living by a beautiful beach with perfect weather, he has actual friends and a man that is so caring for him it makes Grace ache. He chalks it up to his brain compensating for his loneliness.
Simon was sure he died, but now he's awake and aware on a beach with a man that knows him and, somehow, loves him. He lives in the dream, what must be some afterlife he somehow made his way to, before he wakes being saved by the very man from his dreams.
