Osamu's name sat on his lockscreen with every other notification as he watched the numbers change from 1AM to 6AM to 8PM and now he'd lost the day and missed his shift. Atsumu called, and Rintarou listened to the insistent buzzing as if it'd rewind the time.
The thing about depression, though, is you think you remember the feeling, the apathy, the ache, but it doesn’t really hit until you're back in that state, pathetic and static with bones of brick and your chest an anchor. You're sinking and your lungs are full of water and all you can see is the surface getting further and further away as silent pleas leave your lips and float in bubbles, to never reach the sky.
You are a rock at the bottom of the sea. You are a cloud, weeping and shifting and falling. You are a lost toy, a discarded rag, a guitar riff forgotten.
