Maybe he had been wrong and this life as a martyr had never been his calling. Maybe God had a different path in mind for him. But if that were the case, what was the purpose of having him go blind and letting his father die, of heightening his other senses so much that it made it nearly impossible for him to find any peace? Did God just want to cause him pain? To punish him?
He hated that thought, the idea that the baby was a punishment. They didn’t ask to be conceived under such violent circumstances. They didn’t deserve to come into the world with this black cloud hanging over them. To be born to a father that both loved and resented them in equal measure.What if Matt’s distraction during the Punisher trial wasn’t caused by the situation with Elektra and The Hand? What if he was dealing with the aftermath of something much worse?

Despite it being Wilson Fisk's child, Matt decides to keep the baby and now is faced with the monstrous challenges of pregnancy, parenthood, and protecting his family from Fisk's crosshairs.
