All his life he’d had nothing but misery and trouble. At first, it was only at home. He’d lost his father, and then his mother left for Fontaine, leaving him behind while she went to remarry. Trouble then had been named loss. Then, it had been trouble at the Akademiya. This time, that trouble had a different name: Alhaitham. Their friendship blossomed beautifully before withering away amidst the pressures of their differences. Only problem, that new trouble followed him everywhere. Academic journals, notice boards, books, you name it. Alhaitham somehow was in every corner of his life, even if he was no longer truly there.
Soon enough, Alhaitham seemed to wish to prove that notion wrong as well. They met again while Kaveh was drinking away his sorrows, and Alhaitham offered him a place to stay. The new roommates argued and bickered a lot, only proving to Kaveh just how much trouble his new roommate still was.
So when he saw said roommate facing off against the General Mahamatra at the entrance to Aaru Village, he couldn’t help but wonder what trouble he’d be dragged into this time.
Or alternatively: one of those “what if Kaveh was involved in the Archon Quest?”

It was done. The greatest work of Kaveh's life was finally complete. The architect took a few steps back to admire his work, bending every which way to capture it from each angle. There was a small silver plate just on the front of the rectangular base displaying the name of said work: Vultur Volans. Though Kaveh liked to call it Alhaitham on his own time. If he liked to speak and chat with it as if it were alive while he worked on all of the small details, well...no one had to know. Though there was an odd way that it seemed as though the statue was looking at him, following him with it's eyes. Of course, that was entirely impossible. It couldn't possibly be alive, right?

Alhaitham inhaled again, testing the pull of the scent, the way it coiled in his lungs and settled deep in his core. It wasn’t just strong. It was perfect. His body reacted instinctively, as though recognizing something he himself had yet to fully comprehend.
A bond.
Kaveh, still unaware of the storm brewing within Alhaitham, shook his head. “If this is some kind of joke, Alhaitham, I swear—”
“It’s not,” Alhaitham cut in, his voice firm.
Kaveh faltered, his lips parting slightly in surprise. He had expected indifference, perhaps even mockery, but not this. Not the sheer certainty in Alahitham’s voice, the way he was looking at him as though he had just discovered something irreversible.
Alhaitham took a single step closer, controlled but deliberate. “It’s not a joke,” he repeated, quieter this time. “And I don’t think either of us are prepared for what this means.”

Summary
Alhaitham puts Kaveh’s theory into question by pulling Kaveh into his lap, making him let out an embarrassing, high pitched yelp at the sudden movement. This Alhaitham is so much bigger than him, and his huge arms easily cage Kaveh’s small frame within his grasp. His legs easily slot around Alhaitham’s thighs. Kaveh is used to being the taller, elegant senior that his little Haitham looks up to, but under Alhaitham’s gaze, he feels like a little bunny staring into the predator’s maw. It doesn’t help that Alhaitham smells heavenly, a shockingly masculine, overbearing scent that makes Kaveh want to rub his thighs together.
“Of course, once the domain’s conditions are fulfilled, the occupants are usually spit right back out.”
Their new position puts Kaveh’s face right up to Alhaitham’s. His Haitham has always had beautiful eyes, green like the eyes in his hair, overlapped with the red of the setting sun, the shine in his eyes always especially when looking at Kaveh. Right now, the red in his eyes is so dark they look almost black, and it makes his eyes look particularly bright, anticipatory, hungry. Alhaitham is looking at Kaveh like he wants to eat him.

For most of Kaveh's post-high school career, he's done a pretty good job at avoiding any and all mentions of Alhaitham. Even despite the fact that Alhaitham is just as much -- if not more -- of an actor as him.
After getting the role he's been waiting to play for at least a decade, he finds out that Alhaitham is starring alongside him.
Now he's stuck in this film, and all he can hope for is that Alhaitham will make an effort to avoid him as well.
(Alhaitham does not avoid him in the slightest. In fact, one might go to say he actively seeks out Kaveh's company whenever possible.
Let us wish good luck to the both of their poor souls.)

He takes a step up, then two more. His breath catches in his throat as he hears a random creak somewhere. It’s just the house settling- surely, that’s all that it is. His light casts up at the top of the stairs. A man- a tall, clearly well-built man stands at the top of the steps, staring in silence. He immediately steps back, a squeal coming from his lips as he turns on his heel only to trip on the old, curled up carpeting and tilts back into a fall.
A man catches him, the one that he’d seen at the top of the steps. How could he move so quickly? Is that even humanly possible?. “Don’t fall. If you start bleeding, I may not be able to resist myself.”
Or Kaveh, a renowned architect, loves searching abandon houses for inspiration. When he comes across this one however, his fate is eternally changed.

Summary
When Kaveh discovers that Alhaitham has been reading a book about human sexuality and kinks, he generously offers to assist Alhaitham with some sexual exploration. It’s a risky proposal, and one that could end very badly—thanks to their falling-out years ago, the two of them have trust issues galore.
But it turns out that Kaveh and Alhaitham are surprisingly good at trust and communication when it comes to sex…which raises some questions about the nature of their relationship, and where exactly this whole experiment is leading them.
“Look,” Kaveh says, “if you’re going to approach sexual pleasure like an experiment, most potential partners won’t take too kindly to the idea of you having sex with them for science. Therefore, to spare all the poor people you’d inevitably insult in your quest for data, I am willing to be that person.”
“How charitable of you,” Alhaitham says.
“And I assume that you’re somewhat comfortable with the idea of having sex with me,” Kaveh adds, “or else you wouldn’t have been so willing to have my fingers in your mouth just now.”

Kaveh’s hands move to cover his face, palms muffling his words as he mutters, “It’s—not quite like that.”
“Well, the ‘sick’ aspect is accurate, at least.”
“No shit,” Kaveh snorts. “The ‘love’ component, though—it’s, uh—”
“You’re not in love?”
He coughs. “The greenhouse in my lungs begs to differ. I—it’s more that my body is mourning a love it knows can’t ever be requited.”
For all the negative feelings Alhaitham’s encountered over the past twelve hours, the sensation that creeps through him now is…
Unfamiliar.
Unknowable.
Despite all the languages he’s fluent in, Alhaitham is unable to conjure a word or phrase with which he can immediately label it. He just knows that whatever this feeling is, it’s unbelievably unpleasant. Like his body is stationary, yet his internal organs are plummeting into the Abyss.
“You love someone who doesn’t love you back?” he asks after a moment.
Kaveh has Hanahaki. That much is known. But who he loves, and whether Alhaitham will be able to save him, is up in the air.

Zakaria barked out a laugh as he leaned closer and ran a hand through Kaveh's hair. “He's seething,” Zakaria whispered in his ear. “Seething. He looks like he's about to explode. It's working, dude... gods, he looks a little scary, actually. Hope he doesn't stab me. When he's drilling you later tonight after my master plan works out flawlessly make sure to remind him that I'd rather fuck a tree stump than touch you like this so I can still be best man at your wedding.”
Or; Kaveh’s childhood friend is sick of watching him and Alhaitham pine helplessly after one another, so he devises a plan to make Alhaitham jealous. Kaveh, under the impression that Alhaitham won’t notice - let alone care - is pleasantly surprised by the result as an entirely new side of Alhaitham is revealed to him.

Alpha Alhaitham and omega Kaveh met each other way earlier, with teen Kaveh being trailed by younger Alhaitham around the Akademiya. When he's asked, Alhaitham simply says that he's following his omega around.
It's cute, and that's the only reason why Kaveh endures the nuisance but when a week turns into several years, suddenly he has a very territorial young alpha latching onto him like a permanent bodyguard in Akademiya.
The thing is, he should’ve thought things through before making any promises.
