    Katsuki Bakugou, lead singer and the star of an up-and-coming rock band, needs to write a set amount of love songs as per the contract with his label.

    The bad news is: he sucks at it. The even worse news is: they need to hire a dorky-looking lyricist who always manages to get on Katsuki's nerves to help them out.

    Izuku Midoriya is elated to be the lyricist for one of the coolest new bands of the century, really he is!

    But it would've been... a lot more enjoyable if the hotheaded lead singer didn't glare at him so harshly every time they work together! This is going to be a very difficult partnership indeed.

    That well of frustration building in Izuku’s chest finally snaps. He follows after him. “Fucking say something for once,” he yells at his back.

    Katsuki whirls around. "I have been saying shit, you fucking idiot! Begging you on my hands and knees, I've been saying shit!" He steps forward into Izuku’s space. "Stop hurting yourself! Stop being reckless! Stop risking your damn life!"

    When a pair of heavy combat boots thump onto the asphalt in front of him, he’s almost certain it has to be an exhaustion-induced hallucination. Standing mere feet away from Katsuki is a mirror image of himself. Taller, older maybe, and different in many ways—but the same face, the same scowl, the same scars, the same sharp red eyes.

    “What are you, a shitty cosplayer?” the knock-off Dynamight asks, voice huskier than his own.

    It’s so bizarre that Katsuki has to shake his head in the hopes it’ll dispel the mirage. It doesn’t.

    “Funny,” he replies with a deadly glower, holding the unconscious girl tighter in his arms, “I was about to ask you the damn same thing.”

    Who would Katsuki grow up to be in a world where Deku didn't make it out of the final battle, and how can he find his way home to the Deku who's still waiting for him?

    “That wasn’t a game. That was just an excuse to punch you, moron,” Katsuki argues, waving the bottle around expressively, “You never had a secret better than ‘I think Kacchan is the best!’ and I would save up lame gossip for the excuse to hit you without dealing with the tears.”

    Katsuki sneaks off from Uraraka and Momo's charity gala to hide out in the dining room, and Izuku follows him with a bottle of champagne and ideas for some games they could play. So what if they spill some truth and make a mess along the way?

    Turning a childhood hazing ritual into a drinking game, finally confessing shit they should've talked about years ago, getting in their feelings, and then fucking on a dining room table about it.
