She’s afraid to ask, but the guard’s gradual shift in tone—strict and no nonsense, to almost hesitant—and her own undying curiosity get the better of her.
“What for?”
“Strangling a guard with her braid. She was quite unhappy to hear that she has a new bunkmate.”

She can do this. She can get through one (1) elevator ride with the object of her... affection? Lust? No. April simply objects to the thought of her. Sterling made sure of that when she whacked John Stevens with her gun.
