It’s not the put upon sigh she would have imagined after listening to Anakin’s rants. It’s soft, reverent almost, and Padmé can feel the emotion pouring through the words.
Anakin looks up at him slowly. “Will you do it?”
The shock crosses his face for only a moment before he nods. Once, then twice, and moves over to sit on the couch beside his padawan, picking up the mirror and cords that hold the braid in place. “Always.”

Charlie didn’t know what he was expecting when he came home for Christmas. His mum pestering him about what he was eating and whether he was keeping to a good routine? Yes. Having it be all of five minutes before Tao tries to get him to watch some obscure new movie? Sure. Have the life scared out of him every time Tori just randomly appears behind him? Absolutely.
But seeing Nick Nelson in the bar at a corner table with his arm draped around the shoulders of some girl Charlie does not recognize is not what he had on his bingo card this holiday season.
